Thanks for dropping by our site, and if you don’t mind, I’m going to get a bit personal here.

Growing up, I was a struggling reader. It wasn’t until a few teachers taught me some great strategies and a love for learning that my reading improved. I’m still not a pleasure reader, but I have read hundreds of books, thousands of articles, work documents, legal documents and contracts. And there’s no end in sight!

I’m grateful for that skill, and I’m thankful to the teachers who inspired me to achieve greater heights!

A similar thing happened in math. I was average in math until my grade 5 teacher decided that being successful in math was far more critical than recess. He kept our whole class in for morning recess, and he had the nerve to make us come back early from lunch to work on math. What was he thinking?

Was it worth it? It was. He taught us the basics of math until we were all extremely proficient and math became easy and fun.

I spent most of my career selling technical products and financial software to business owners and executives. That was fine for a time, but then about 10 years ago, I was given an opportunity to help kids with their math, language and literacy skills, and I was thrilled. Right away, I thought back to the impact those teachers had on my life, and I wanted to do the same.

Now, every day in my work, I get to impact the lives of kids and their families, present and future, and I love it!
